Description
Written in 1844 the Holy Family is the first joint work of Karl Marx and Frederick Engels. It criticises the Young Hegelians from the standpoint of militant materialism. The young authors also criticise Hegel’s own idealistic philosophy while giving credit for the rational element in his dialectics. The Holy Family is a stage in the development of Marx and Engels’ philosophical views and clearly formulates a number of basic propositions of historical and dialectical materialism. The Holy Family was only published in English in 1956.
